
Our Chapter President is Dr. Terri Smith. She was initiated in the Spring of 2005 at Iota Kappa Chapter located on the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi.
Welcome to the website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Beta Theta Omega Chapter.
It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the 2nd President of this amazing, beautiful, tenacious, and outstanding (ABTO) chapter. Prior to becoming an official interest group, I served as the group’s first Treasurer, had the distinct honor to lead our group, S.T.A.R.S of Laurel, from late 2016-2020. I served as the Poised Pearls Interest Group Chartering Chair. Since our chartering on May 7, 2022, I have served as Alpha Beta Theta Omega chapter’s Ivy Leaf Reporter & Technology Chair (2022-2024), Chair of Alpha Beta Theta Omega Chapter first Founders’ Day Chair (2023), Scholarship Chair (2023 & 2025), Building Economic Wealth Chair (2022-2025), Education Advancement Fund Chair (2023-2025), Chaplain ( 2025) and have served on numerous committees.
Alpha Beta Theta Omega chapter has remained committed to Service to All Mankind, uplifting our communities through impactful programs, collaborations, partnerships, and sisterhood. Guided by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated’s international initiatives, our chapter is dedicated to programming efforts assisting our communities in the areas of education and leadership of our youth, economic empowerment for women lead businesses, environmental stewardship, and civic and social engagement. Alpha Beta Theta Omega chapter strives to create sustainable change while honoring the rich legacy of excellence established by the Founders of our illustrious organization.
In Alpha Beta Theta Omega chapter, sisterhood is important. We value unity, mutual respect, and meaningful engagement, fostering an environment where every member is encouraged to lead, grow, and serve with enthusiasm and having fun doing it. Together, we continue to build upon the initial vision for our chapter.
